Why EPP is becoming increasingly important in the HVAC sector

The demands placed on modern HVAC systems are constantly increasing: the focus is on energy efficiency, low weight, long service life and sustainable materials. EPP (expanded polypropylene) meets all of these criteria and is therefore becoming increasingly important.

EPP molded parts offer a number of advantages:

  • Lightweight construction: Reduces the overall weight of HVAC units, facilitates transportation and installation

  • Thermal efficiency: Outstanding insulation properties for energy-efficient heating and cooling systems

  • High stability and durability

  • Design freedom: complex components can be manufactured as individual pieces, which shortens assembly times and reduces the number of connections

  • Sustainability: Fully recyclable and resistant to moisture, chemicals and temperature fluctuations

These properties make EPP a crucial material for components in ventilation units, heat pumps and air conditioning systems and explain why the material is becoming increasingly important in the industry.

Typical applications of EPP in HVAC systems

EPP molded parts are used in a variety of HVAC applications. Examples are

  • Ventilation units: Lightweight housings, air ducts or insulating components

  • Heat pumps: Complex housings and insulating separating elements

  • Air conditioning units: Vibration-damping, insulating components

The ability to combine several functions in one component reduces the number of individual parts and increases the efficiency of the systems.

Solutions for greater efficiency and sustainability

By using EPP molded parts, component weights can be reduced, assembly processes simplified and energy efficiency improved. At the same time, the material contributes to sustainable product concepts thanks to its recyclability and durability.

At the trade fair, we will show you how these advantages can be used in HVAC applications.
