EPP in electric vehicles

Commercial vehicles go green

This applies in particular to the commercial vehicles of a French manufacturer that specializes in professional green space maintenance. Environmentally friendly drive technologies and electrically powered ride-on lawn mowers have long been part of its portfolio. What is new and so far unique worldwide is a multifunctional utility vehicle designed for asphalt and all types of terrain and which is 100% electrically powered.

The robust driver’s cab of the vehicle consists of a frame with aluminum profiles and covers made of expanded polypropylene (EPP). The vehicle parts made of EPP are used in the door area and as a roof cover. The outer sides of the covers are finished with a surface texture. This results in a closed, non-porous surface that is both water-repellent and visually appealing.

Several NOVAfeed&fix® elements provide various fastening options. They are composite components consisting of an external particle foam and a thermoplastic fastening element injected into it as a core. The concept is based on the well-known principle of particle foam composite injection molding (PVSG).

RUCH NOVAPLAST is planning further vehicle parts made from expanded polypropylene.
