Remote theatre scenery control STC Navigator |
 |
Initial situation: - fixed standard main console with two 14" touch panel monitors
- additional console and siderack with two 19" plug-in PCs
- some equipment on rollers, but not mobile enough
Task: - to produce a light, portable remote control allowing on-the-spot control of functions
- time available for development: maximum 30 days
- similar to a remote control for cranes
Successful realisation: - An electronic circuit board with a folding touch screen monitor, a joy stick, several switches and push-buttons, as well as the wiring – i.e. the whole complex – was encased in foam
- The EPP prototype was ready within 13 days
- The whole device was given an outer casing of stainless steel.
Advantages: - weighs only 3.5 kilogrammes
- the individual components are simply ‘clicked’ into place and are then held securely
- the STC-Navigator can be taken everywhere
